what does ncr mean?

NCR stands for No Carbon Required and refers to paper stock that has been treated with a special coating. When glued together in sets of 2 or more sheets, the paper reacts to the pressure of a pen so that whatever is written on the first sheet of the form is copied onto subsequent parts of the form without the need for carbon paper.

project showcase: a-frames

The Print Group offer a variety of printed products and our metal A-Frames have been quite popular lately.

Our team designed and printed this metal A-Frame with a built in clock for our client Sanobooks. Our client is a regular at trade shows and events and is an established author with a variety of published books. They were looking for signage that was not only portable, but could be adjusted to reflect the time of their next book reading.

The Print Group team offered both the design and print of the metal faced A-Frame which was printed at 600m x 600mm in full colour. One side of the A-Frame offered a built-in clock face whereby the hands could be moved as needed to reflect the time.

We also completed another A-Frame for our client , FARSTA. As they share an office with another company, they wanted to be able to welcome and direct students to their training rooms when they exited the lifts. While we offered options such as posters, wallpaper or pull-up banners, our client loved the idea of the A-Frame as it is portable but also offered a more professional finish. This is more of a ‘standard’ size at 600mm x 900mm and was also printed full colour.

Should you need a custom designed or printed A-Frame, contact the team at The Print Group and we would be happy to help!

project showcase: 2017 national vet conference guide

The Print Group work with VELG Training on all of their professional print needs and the upcoming 2017 National VET Conference in Sydney was no exception.

The team at VELG Training wanted to look at some different finishing options this year for the Conference Guide. After reviewing the cover design concept with the rectangular, brick design, we suggested using a technique called bubble coat. Instead of a high gloss spot UV varnish that was offered on the 2016 Conference Guide, the bubble coat offered a rough textured finish that was used to highlight the bricks in the design. The end result looked fantastic!

The conference guide really offered a professionally designed and finished product for the team at VELG Training. The cover was printed on 310gsm hi bulk art board, matt cello glazed single sided, then finished with a spot bubble coat to highlight key design elements. The text pages were printed on 150gsm silk art with overall varnish then collated, folded and saddle-stitched.

It was great to work with the team at VELG Training again on this project and we had a great time exhibiting at the conference again this year!
